The R33 GT-R refined the R32 formula with a stiffer, larger chassis, improved ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive and the same RB26DETT twin-turbo inline-six rated at the gentlemen's-agreement 276 horsepower. It became the first production car to lap the Nürburgring under eight minutes, cementing engineering credibility.
